3-D Mammogram
Mammograms
Now offering 3-D ultrasound!
Three Rivers Medical Center offers 3-D mammograms to provide more detailed images and higher quality by capturing multiple slices of breast tissue. Combining 3-D mammograms with standard mammograms reduces the need for additional imaging and slightly increases the number of cancers detected during screening.
3-D Mammography
According to the American Cancer Society’s website, “Finding breast cancer early and getting state-of-the-art cancer treatment are two of the most important ways to prevent deaths from breast cancer.
If breast cancer is found early, when it’s small and has not spread, it is easier to treat successfully. Getting regular screening tests is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early.
The American Cancer Society has screening guidelines for women at average risk for breast cancer and for those at high risk for breast cancer.” (ACS Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines | American Cancer Society)
What is 3-D Mammography?
3-D mammograms take multiple images across the breast to create a 3-D photo. A 3-D Mammogram can look for breast cancer and other reasons for breast issues such as breast pain and nipple discharge.
